Zipp uses a more advanced durometer rubber, almost 12 months in development, for lower rolling resistance while also gaining improved cornering grip and tread longevity. This enhanced longevity and performance was confirmed by internal testing showing that both rolling resistance and grip both actually improve in the first 100 miles as the tire breaks in.
Beyond this, the Tangente Speed R25 tires also have improved puncture resistance. The Speed R25 (designed as a race tire) features a 220 TPI nylon casing for an extra supple ride. We take no short cuts in development and you’ll see at the end of your ride, recovery drink in hand, just how hard you can push yourself when you only have to consider you.
